‘The Overland Track’ in Tasmania is arguably Australia’s most iconic multi day hiking track.
Starting from Cradle Mountain in the north and running 80km south to Lake St Clair, the track is on many hikers bucket lists and for good reason.
I first hiked The Overland Track in 2006 while on our 16 month Big Lap road trip around Australia and then again in 2009.
Now I’m heading back to hike it a third time and this time 3 of my mates are joining me – Zak, Rob and Gary.
We’ve got 8 nights planned on the track giving us enough time to tackle a few side trips along the way – weather permitting.
If you’re planning to hike the track yourself and want to get some ideas and inspiration for your trip then I’ve made a series of videos detailing my pre-trip planning and preparations which you can watch below.
You can also watch these videos PLUS the 3 part series of the trip itself over on our YouTube channel.
