Hiking Tasmania’s ‘Overland Track’ Part 2 [VIDEO]

Watch Episode 2 of our new Hiking The Overland Track Series where we attempt to make it to the summit of Mt Ossa.

Ok guys welcome to Part 2 of our recent hike down the iconic Overland Track in Tasmania.

In case you missed it, you can start from the beginning by watching Part 1 here.

In this episode we’ve just climbed Barn Bluff (which looks a lot like Devils Tower in Wyoming, USA) and we now have our sights set on reaching the highest point in Tasmania, the summit of Mt Ossa.

This is my third hike of the Overland Track in the past 20 years and the first two times I couldn’t get to the summit of Mt Ossa due to bad weather.

I’m determined to make it third time lucky but the weather forecast is for storms on the day we plan to be there . . . not ideal!

Watch the video above to see how it all pans out.

Stay tuned for episode 3 which will be live on YouTube Sunday 15th September at 6:00am Melbourne time.

Here’s a few snapshots from the track . . .

New Pelion Hut with the sunset lighting up Mt Oakleigh
Perfect spot to stop for a coffee break
Typical trackside lunch of tuna and 2 minute noodles
Your’s truly on my way to the summit of Mt Ossa, hoping the rain doesn’t beat us to it!
