‘The Big Lap’ Lawn Hill Break Down

What happens when your wheel bearing collapses on a remote station track in outback Queensland?

While filming The Big Lap Film Series we were on a remote station track on Lawn Hill Station, about 400+km north west of Mt Isa, Queensland.

It was about 4:30 in the afternoon and we were heading for the campground at Adels Grove, near Lawn Hill National Park.

We didn’t make it!

The brakes became really spongy and I pulled over to check it out and found smoke coming out of the right front wheel hub.

And things pretty much went downhill from there.

Watch the clip above to see how it played out.
